How Wide Can We Make A Dormer?

 

  A dormer is meant to be wide enough to install a new window. However, since many loft additions with vaulted ceilings are sloping down too low we try to design the new dormer window as wide as possible without triggering additional structural requirements to the foundation.

 

  The larger a dormer is the more it will cost and at some point it will simply become a full scale two story addition.
