As an architectural designer, I’ve really enjoyed working with TruAdditions. Rene, the CEO, is thoughtful and thorough, and you can tell he really cares about the quality of his work.

Even during the design stage, he’s willing to visit the job site to review structural conditions and bring back valuable field information. That kind of input makes a big difference to the design. It helps the designer and the homeowner make informed decisions early on and minimizes surprises once construction begins.

Thank you True Additions for diligently working the 60 sf ft loft with railings, shelves, and support electrical, sprinkler, low voltage, and AC ducting so that the addition looks original, and not look like an addition. True Plans created the Permit drawings for True Additions to execute. True Additions mobilized quickly after City Plan Check, constructed the sturdy framing, coordinated City inspections, and completed the drywall and especially the stair railing with quality. They were respectful of the job site being lived in, protected existing finishes, and were flexible with some construction details.

We had a 21-foot ceiling in our living and dining room and wanted to add a second-floor loft. Since the project required structural changes, we researched extensively online for a contractor who specializes in lofts.
Fortunately, I found Trueplans and Truadditions. Both teams were reliable, provided good customer service, and were highly professional. Once construction began, they arrived on time every day, worked efficiently, and cleaned up before leaving, minimizing dust and keeping the area clear.
The project was divided into phases, and payments were made after the completion and satisfaction of each phase.
Every key decision was discussed to confirm they understood my request. Their attention to detail was excellent, and they were always willing to help, even when I arrived with the grocery bags!! Jorge and the Truadditions team went above and beyond for our family. Their work from beginning to end was professional, polished, and they completed it faster than we actually thought. I Won’t lie, I was assuming there would be bumps along the way and there was never an issue. They did everything for us and treated our home and family with care. We did a room addition and altered our floorplan with TruAdditions. We found them to be very timely, wonderful communicators, and great at their craft. We were impressed by how well they managed the permit process with our city, and continually followed up when the city lacked response - their experience was very evident and we know it’s a very crucial part of the timelines which we really appreciated. Renee is wonderful to work with and we loved how involved he was as the owner of the company. When we need a couple small items touched up a few months after our project they had someone come out the next day. Top tier customer service, we are very happy with the end result and would recommend them for your house project.

TruAdditions added a bedroom to our high-vaulted living room. Their project quote was competitive, and they were willing to travel to the Bay Area. Rene and the crew were professional from start to finish. They thoroughly prepared the house and kept the worksite clean at the end of each day. They had a sufficient number of workers and did not drag out the project. The job was completed in less than half of the originally estimated time. Everything was straightforward and matched the contract—no surprises. The city inspector was impressed and my family was happy. I would absolutely recommend them and would call them again for future projects. Kudos to the TruAdditions and TruPlans team.

I could not have hired a better firm to work on my loft addition. From start to finish, the entire team was a pleasure to work with. Chris came out to do my initial consultation to build out an estimate and provided valuable recommendations which I incorporated into the final plan.
The project was a bit complicated as I wanted to allocate a portion of the new space to include a new walk-in bathroom and connect it to an existing bedroom. This required additional design and planning to extend hot & cold water supply, HVAC and sewage extended out to the new bathroom. Chris and Rene came out multiple times to re-assess the design plan before giving me an extremely competitive quote.
Willis and Mary in the back office ensured I was constantly updated and made the HOA approvals/permitting and plan check process headache free.
The buildout team headed by Rene are true craftsmen of their trade. The demolition and construction went extremely fast without sacrificing quality. Rene and the team treated the buildout as if it were their own home and ensured every detail was up to his high-quality standards. End result is a homeowner that could not find any flaws in the build quality. The new addition space blends right into the existing structure. No one would be able to tell an addition was constructed long after the original home was built.

I had an interior remodel for my townhome that they happened to be experts at. Compared to people locally in my area (San Jose) they were almost half the costs. They also had all of the required insurance coverage needed to do what I needed, which most contractors locally didn’t cover. Work was done within the time frame I needed, and ultimately when I was dissatisfied with something, they gave me a refund on a portion of their work. I would recommend them again.

The team at Tru Additions has completed two major projects on our home (both loft additions), and a major loft expansion for one of our neighbors. They offer excellent quality of work, brilliant engineering, desirable aesthetics, emphasis on creative functionality of spaces, strong attention to detail, good communication, and timely completion. The team minimizes ambiguity and maximizes client input, whilst not making the process overly burdensome for the homeowner. My wife and I are planning to have Tru Additions remodel our kitchen in the near future. We feel no need to "shop around," since Tru Additions have shown themselves to be a "no-brainer," and always welcome into our home.

Tru-Loft/Truadditions is the most professional, communicative and conscience contractor/construction companies we have ever dealt with across many projects that we have done at our home. The design team is outstanding as we worked through several iterations of our plans. Their design tools help you visualize the project completely. Once construction began the crew was courteous, fast, thorough and worked very clean. Clean up happened at the end of everyday. They brought a large team to get the entire job completed in a month and it would have been faster if we didn't have delays related to custom railing we had to order. Most importantly the change orders and add ons were well communicated and minimal. For this type of project, these guys are the experts and their pricing could not be beat here in Northern California. We have already recommended them to many in our neighborhood.

Completed a loft addition in August of 2024. We had several companies quote us and truadditions came in with the best price and a fraction of the time to complete it. They finished the project in exactly the amount of time they said and for the exact price they quoted. The work they did was amazing and it looks like it is part of the house and not an addition.
